U.S. equities remain under pressure ahead of this week’s FOMC meeting in which the Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates. Matthew Johnson delivers his outlook for the U.S. economy, and says that heightened volatility will continue to be present in the market because of the broad array of uncertainties facing domestic and global economies, including geopolitical tensions, high levels of inflation and ongoing COVID-19 concerns. Johnson says inflation is not going away any time soon and expects to see higher energy costs and ongoing supply-chain issues.
