Though retail sales came in lower than expectations, Larry Shover notes that some will believe that this is all transitory due to stimulus and reopening and others will believe the trend will continue. These perspectives may very well be applicable to the slew of housing numbers that will come next week. Looking the other way right now may be the best path until a new baseline is set on some of the numbers.
