Slowdown In Retail Sales But The Shift To Ecommerce Still Exists

"Companies like FedEx (FDX) have cut their sales forecasts, which exacerbated the situation we had where ecommerce sales were decelerating and becoming less exciting but data still shows strength. I think a lot of this weakness is not necessarily attributed to disinterest in ecommerce, but a slowdown in retail sales—that shift to ecommerce still exists. Companies like Walmart (WMT) now have 11.9% in 2Q22 ecommerce sales vs. 5.4% in 2Q19," says Roxanna Islam.
