Stock Market Today: AVGO, META Up & COST Slides

The Dow Jones ended higher along with the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and the Russell 2000. Nine of the eleven S&P 500 sectors closed higher led by materials. Broadcom (AVGO) rose more than 6% today after better-than-expected earnings and boosting their outlook. Meta Platforms (META) says it wants to make its VR headsets more accessible for more customers, so it's cut the price of them. Costco (COST) shares slid 2% after the latest quarter fell short of holiday expectations and online sales took a tumble. Next week, look for the Fed Chair Jerome Powell testifying in Congress Tuesday and Wednesday.
