Stock Market Today: Bank Stocks On The Upswing, META Shares Rise On Layoff News

The Dow Jones closed in the green, along with the S&P 500, the Nasdaq-100, and the Russell 2000. All eleven S&P 500 sectors ended higher today, with communication services, tech, and financials leading the way as bank stocks rebound. Moody's cut its banking system outlook to negative from stable, citing runs at the banks and confidence shaken in the financial system and legislature, lawmakers are split on tighter rules for bank regulators. Facebook parent Meta (META) announced a second round of layoffs today which sent stock shares soaring. Barclay's upgraded Match Group (MTCH) to overweight from equal weight with an unchanged price target of $52 per share. Tomorrow, look for earnings from Adobe (ADBE) and Five Below (FIVE).
