Stock Market Today: META & AMZN Strength, INTC Weakness

The Dow Jones, S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and Russell 2000 all ended higher. All eleven sectors closed higher on the day. Meta Platforms (META) closed 14% higher after releasing quarterly results that showed its year of efficiency is working. Intel (INTC) posted its largest quarterly loss in the company history, a 133% reduction in earnings per share. Amazon (AMZN) shares extended their rally post-market after swinging to a profit in the first quarter as sales rise. Tomorrow, look out for the Personal Income & Outlays data, as well as the Chicago PMI and Consumer Sentiment. Energy giant Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Chevron (CVX) will report earnings tomorrow.
