Stock Market Today: Semiconductor Stocks, JNJ Weakness & FDX Shows Strength

The Dow Jones was the only index to close in the green, the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and Russell 2000 all ended in the red. Four out of the eleven SPX sectors ended in the green, with the utilities sector being the best performer. Most semiconductor stocks closed down, after China said it'll respond to Japan if it doesn't change its restrictions on chip exports to the country. Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is making another attempt at filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection through its subsidiary LTL Management to settle talc cancer claims in North America. FedEx (FDX) shares closed higher after announcing plans to combine its ground and express delivery networks into a single operation.
