The Dow Jones, Nasdaq-100, and S&P 500 all closed today in the red, with only the Russell 2000 ending in the green. Consumer staples and real estate were the best performers and communications was the worst performer. AT&T (T) shares made a recovery rising after a historic plunge on Thursday. Proctor & Gamble (PG) shares closed up on a top and bottom-line beat in the latest earnings results and after raising its sales outlook. Lithium stocks SQM and Albemarle (ALB) took a huge hit from the squeezed margins of Tesla (TSLA), but even more of a hit from the Chilean government's proposal to have a majority stake in all new lithium contracts with private companies. Next week is the busiest earnings week of the quarter, look out for Alphabet (GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT), Boeing (BA), Meta (META), Amazon (AMZN), Exxon (XOM), and Chevron (CVX).
