Tesla (TSLA) Drives Home a Win But With Detours

Tesla (TSLA) is the subject of today’s FOMO segment. In this segment Jenny Horne and Caroline Woods discuss Tesla’s earnings beat. Jenny and Caroline look at revenue which rose about 42% from last year to reach $16.93B. That’s down from 1Q22 but up Y/Y. This earnings report ends Tesla’s (TSLA) streak of reporting record revenue. Caroline says Tesla (TSLA) delivered 254,695 vehicles in Q2 which is down from 310,048 delivered in Q1 this year. The company also sold 75% of its Bitcoin (/BTC), adding $936M in cash to its balance sheet. Jenny spoke to how Twitter (TWTR) stock action is mirroring Tesla (TSLA) due to the Elon Musk commonality. Tesla (TSLA) gains hit just under 10% Thursday settling in around ~ $813/share by midday.
