More than a name change has taken place since the company behind Facebook rebranded to Meta Platforms (FB). Internet analyst Mark Shmulik discusses what investors need to know about the metaverse, which he says is the next evolution in computing for many technology-based companies. Shmulik says the winners of the metaverse have already been putting capital toward making strides in the space like Meta Platforms. Other participants in the sphere include Alphabet (GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT), T-Mobile (TMUS), Tencent (TCEHY) and Snap (SNAP).
