The Dow was barely changed along with the S&P 500, whereas the Nasdaq-100 took a major hit after Microsoft's earnings came in mixed. Five out of the eleven S&P 500 sectors ended lower today, with utilities and industrials down by the most. Financials and consumer discretionary were the biggest winners. AT&T (T) shares closed 6.6% higher after reporting better than expected earnings for the fourth quarter. The company added subscribers and said it plans to keep spending to build out its 5G infrastructure and the fiber network. Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) fell by 5.5% after reporting worse than expected 4th quarter sales and earnings results. Tesla (TSLA) shares closed up and was trading around its closing price after reporting upbeat earnings. The company said it's still on track to begin its Cybertruck production later this year at its gigafactory in Texas. Tune in to find out more about the stock market today.
